On the Wet Side
Waterskiing/Wakeboarding
You’ll receive great instruction and support whether you’re a beginner, champion or anywhere in between. For the adventurous camper, we offer wakeboarding opportunities and instruction. Waterskiing and wakeboarding are open to all girls of all ages at camp. Additional fees to apply.
Competitive Swimming
Offered as an early morning activity, you will have several chances to try competitive swimming to match your skills against others. It’s a fun way to improve your swimming strokes and learn new swimming techniques, build confidence and channel your competitive side! Competitive swimming is open to all girls with basic swimming skills.
Recreational Swimming
For girls who just love to be in the water and have fun, play fun water games or relax on a tube. If you like to get wet, this is the activity for you!
Swim Lessons
Receive swimming instruction and have fun while you build your swimming skills in our heated swimming pool. Open to all girls of all ages.
Canoeing
Canoeing is fun and easy to learn. Our great instructors will help you learn proper boarding, launching and basic paddle strokes - all the skills you will need to safely and efficiently paddle the waters of Hunter Lake. As you gain experience, you will then have the chance to explore our lake and surrounding river! Open to all girls of all ages.
Day Canoe Trip
WeHaKee is your perfect canoe camp! You have the opportunity to explore the scenic Chippewa or Namakagon Rivers on an extended canoe day trip with your friends and WeHaKee counselors. Enjoy a "floating lunch'" while drifting past bald eagles, herons, rainbow trout and other beautiful wildlife. Open to girls ages 12 and older with canoe experience.
Overnight Canoe Trip
Explore the pristine Flambeau River and navigate its class I+ rapids. This beautiful and protected river is ideal for canoeing and overnight camping alike. Take a night off from your cabin and pitch a tent along the banks of the Flambeau. Develop your team-building skills and individual spirit at the same time when you venture on one of WeHaKee's overnight canoe trips. Open to girls 13 and older with canoe experience.
Kayaking/Funyaks
If you are new to kayaking, you canfirst learn the basics using our easy-to-use and very stable Funyaks! As you become more experienced and confident, you will then have the chance to paddle one of our kayaks on the waters of Hunter Lake. Open to all girls of all ages.
Windsurfing
Windsurfing is one of the most challenging and most rewarding activities at WeHaKee. Our instructors will first help you develop balance and gain confidence while using the windsurf boards. Then you will learn to pull up the sail and catch the winds on Hunter Lake. Open to all girls of all ages.
Sailing
With experienced instructors on board, learn basic rigging and sailing skills on our multiple sailboats. More experienced sailors will have an opportunity to 'solo' on the waters of Hunter Lake. Open to all girls of all ages.
Fishing
Our skilled instructors will help you learn basic to advanced fishing skills. All of the gear is provided so you can focus on catching plenty of perch, crappies and other pan fish in Hunter Lake. You may even see a bass, northern or the elusive musky. Open to all girls of all ages.
Tubing
As one of Hunter Lake's most popular activities, you will have the opportunity to tube at your own pace. You'll get wet, you'll have fun and you'll return to the dock safely to tell your friends about hanging on through every twist and turn!UP (Stand Up Paddling)

A great new sport - it has become one of WeHaKee's most popular activities! See the water from a new perspective using a surf board & specialized paddle!
On the Active Side
Horseback Riding
We offer English style horseback riding and Western style horseback riding opportunities. Beginners will learn basic horse grooming and tacking along with basic skills in walking, trotting and leading horses.
Intermediate and advanced horseback riding will include grooming and tacking horses along with opportunities to trot, post, canter and jump.
All riders will have a trail ride experience. Horseback riding is open to all girls of all ages. Additional fees apply to this activity.
Overnight Camping Trip
Have the opportunity to tent camp in gorgeous Chequamagon National Forest while making your meals over a campfire, pitching tents and enjoying an evening of camp songs and stargazing. Open to girls who have completed Outdoor Skills or have previous camping experience.
Geocaching/Orienteering
Have fun learning how to use a compass and GPS unit to navigate. Explore local geocache sites while setting up new ones in the area. Open to all girls of all ages.
Archery
Learn to safely and accurately shoot an arrow with a bow as you learn proper archery procedures from our skilled staff. Open to all girls of all ages.
Floor Gymnastics/Tumbling
Our experienced instructors provide opportunities to learn, practice and refine your floor gymnastics and tumbling skills. Open to all girls of all ages.
Soccer (football)
Whether you call it soccer or football, you can play with and against friends as you develop your skills and play, compete or ever learn to juggle! Open to all girls of all ages.
Badminton
Learn this racket sport played on a grass court. Open to all girls of all ages.
Basketball
At WeHaKee we have girls of all skill levels who love basketball. Team up with your new friends and play competitively or just a few fun rounds of lightning! Open to all girls of all ages.
Tennis
Our instructors will help you learn or improve your serving, volley and match skills in tennis on our professional tennis courts. Open to all girls of all ages.
Dance
Learn a variety of dance types & movements to music at dance camp! Bring your ideas too! Open to all girls of all ages.
Fitness Sampler
Explore yoga, Pilates and aerobics, perhaps even in the water! Open to all who want to explore ways to get & stay in shape while having fun with others!
Biking
Explore the beautiful north woods on the roads in and near camp while you learn road safety, efficient peddling & shifting techniques. Open to girls ages 10 and older.
Volleyball
Bump, Set, Spike! Learn basic volleyball skills and enjoy casual and match play. Open to all girls of all ages.
Outdoor Skills
Learn to build and cook over a campfire, set up a tent, orienteering & other overnight camping skills. Open to all girls of all ages.
On the Creative Side
Pottery and Ceramics
Create, mold and fire your own hand crafts out of clay. Bring back something special for your room or even make gifts for friends and family! Open to all girls of all ages.
Painting and Sketching
Create your own masterpiece with watercolor and acrylic painting, pencil, charcoal, and other sketching and drawing. Open to all girls of all ages.
Arts and Crafts
Show your creative side and create projects with a variety of materials that we update every year. Open to all girls of all ages.
Photography
Using digital cameras and lead by our instructors, learn basic photography composition skills and take camp photography for display around camp and even on the WeHaKee Camp for Girls website! Open to all girls of all ages.
Newspaper
You are the reporter! Build your skills and build confidence with great stories and write articles for the camp newspaper. Open to all girls of all ages.
Instrumental Music
Play you instrument in an ensemble or prepare a solo for the WeHaKee Showcase. Open to all who currently play an instrument. Campers should bring their own instrument (piano and guitars are available).
Vocal Music
Show off your vocal performance skills and perform at WeHaKee Showcase, Mass & other special events. Open to all girls of all ages.
Musicals
Have fun learning to rehearse, stage and perform a short musical drama at this performance camp! Open to girls ages 13 and older.
Drama
WeHaKee is your acting camp too! With the guidance of our staff, explore dramatic plays & improvisation while preparing a performance for the WeHaKee Showcase. Open to all girls of all ages.
Jewelry
Show your creative side by making your own jewelry through beading, weaving and more! Open to all girls of all ages.
Nature
Guided by WeHaKee's active staff, explore the northern Wisconsin waters, forests and fields of WeHaKee Camp for Girls. Learn about the balance of sustainable camp ecosystems in the great north woods. Open to all girls of all ages.
Knitting
Have fun & be social while learning basic knitting techniques or advancing your knitting skills. There will be chances to knit hats, scarves and other useful items to wear and take home. Open to all girls of all ages.
Academic Tutoring
Receive guidance & assistance increasing your skills & knowledge in core academic areas including math, reading, science, English, etc.. Open to all girls of all ages.
Cooking
Explore basic cooking skills & maybe even prepare an item for a WeHaKee meal! Open to all girls ages 10 and older.
