Staff Expectations at WeHaKee Camp for Girls

Camp staff guides girls, ages 7-17, to challenge themselves and to make good choices all while having great fun and making new friends. It will be a challenging, and at times exhausting, job that you will cherish for a lifetime.

Your work is guided by our camp Mission and Values that are based on social justice principles and universal Gospel values.

Each summer, several of the Dominican Sisters volunteer alongside our camp staff to help each girl realize her uniqueness as an individual person, while understanding and striving to reach her own potential.

“The counselors are always amazing and the girls… I just wish that we could have more time. By the last few nights everyone has opened up and is laughing and telling stories together.”

All counselors will provide leadership in several program activity areas. Program activity instruction includes creating lessons, designing activities, and teaching skills.

In addition to meals and housing, WeHaKee Camp for Girls staff members receive a base salary. Additional pay is provided based on each individual’s experience, training, skills, and certifications.
