In The Heat of Summer!
A spectacular day here at Camp WeHaKee! In the 80’s and sunny skies! A great day to ski, boat, play tennis & badminton, horseback ride, swim, play soccer & volley ball – a great day for camp! We decided to let the campers experience all of their activities and made today (our usual special event day) a regular day 2 – pushing off our Flag Ceremony and Special Event (Under the Sea) until tomorrow.
Yesterday, we had a couple of spotty showers, just enough to get things wet, but not enough to chase us indoors. With partly sunny skies, all the activities were in full swing as the new and returning campers made their way around camp for our first day 1. We enjoyed Mass on Saturday evening with Fr. Jerry and concluded the day with our traditional Welcome Fire at the fire circle at the end of the Chicagami Trail.
It has been a terrific start to our third and final session of the summer. I know that many parents are hoping these two weeks fly by, but we plan to savor every moment with this fun group of girls in hopes that the end of the summer takes it’s time arriving!
