NEW CAMPERS ARE SO MUCH FUN!!
Yes, the rumors are true! Camp WeHaKee was blessed with a brand new bunch of campers for the second session. All the campers arrived safely at camp on Wednesday. New and old faces greeted us with smiles and open arms. The girls are getting along great which makes the next two weeks even more exciting for us! Wednesday was quite a busy day between orientations, health checks, and swim checks but all the girls got through with passing colors.
After an overnight shower, Thursday we awoke to clear blue skies and warm temps! Yesterday was our first full day of activities and everyone got to their assigned activities without at hitch. Last night we concluded the day with our Welcome Fire – each cabin had the chance to creatively introduce themselves and these girls did a fantastic job with their entertaining introductions!
We did have a handful of campers who are staying for 4 weeks and were here over the session break, so camp took some field trips. One was to Copper Falls State Park where the girls got to see gorgeous waterfalls and swim in a sandy lake. The other field trip was the traditional trip to Hayward. Girls got to do a little shopping and eat where ever they wanted to. Needless to say most came back with a bag full of candy. It was a very relaxed two days the girls and staff all got a chance to re-energize for the new campers.
Last night was a bit cooler under the starlit skies and today is again sunny & bright and promises to be another spectacular, diamond day at WeHaKee!
