WeHaKee in the Words of a Camper: Relationships
It was time, once again, to journey down Chicagami Trail to the teepee for the third Council Fire of the summer. Below, a Counselor in Training’s words reinforce WeHaKee’s tag-line. It really is all about relationships.
“On the water bottles you carry around every day it used to say “Hydrated Campers are Happy Campers.” Now, printed on the side it reads “At the Heart of WeHaKee is Relationship.” And though the first quote is true, the second one is right on the dot.
I came to camp 5 years ago for the first time and the only people I knew were my little sister and my cousin. But, I met girls my first day here that I have been friends with ever since.
WeHaKee is Hunter Lake and all the fun we have in and on it. WeHaKee is all the new things we try—the songs, the activities, the cabins, and the camp outs. But, for me, above all else, it’s the friends I’ve made and continue to be close with, it’s the counselors who are both caring and lots of fun, it’s the people who make camp so great.
The heart of WeHaKee truly is relationship. “
